The Community Assistance Network operates two winter shelters for Baltimore County to help persons in need. The shelters are open seven days a week at 7:00 pm and close at 7:00 am. Dinner and breakfast are served at both. The West Side Shelter runs each year from November to April on the grounds of Spring Grove Hospital. Van pick-up for the shelter is located at the bus stop on the corner of Frederick Road and Maiden Choice Lane. The East Side Shelter is operational from November to June at the Eastern Family Resource Center, 9100 Franklin Square Drive. There is a bus stop in front of the building.
