CAN extends outreach offices to Lansdowne
The center runs an after school program which sees an average of 20 kids per day. Kids come in to do homework, get a snack, play games, and use the computers. A grant has just been received to run a cultural enhancement program which will pay to bring people in to run workshops in art, music, dance, theater, and literature, and to take field trips along the same vein.
They can also pick up applications for various programs including: MEAP, Maryland Children's Health Program, Tele-life, Pharmacy Assistance, and Renter's Tax Credit. Residents are able to get utility and eviction assistance and the center has a food pantry which they are able to utilize once per month. Currently the center is offering a women's group once per week in which Towson University nursing students present a different health-related topic for discussion.
