Community Investment Tax Credit Program

CAN's Community Investment Tax Credit Program offers tax credits as incentives for individuals and businesses who support CAN.

Businesses and individuals that make a contribution of $500 dollars or more will earn Maryland State tax credits equal to 50% of the value of their contribution. Individuals and businesses must use the tax credits against Maryland State taxes owed for the year in which the contribution was made and may not be used retroactively for taxes from a prior year.

Any individual or business contemplating making a donation is encouraged to consult with their accountant or tax professional for information about their specific tax benefits.

Workforce Development

CAN works in partnership with the community to prepare our shelter clients to enter or re-enter the workforce. Staff work with guests to build resumes, search for available positions, conduct mock interviews, and more. Tax credits are available to support job development efforts for our shelter guests. For more information about Community Investment Tax Credits, contact CAN's Director of Resource Development, Erica Lambert.
