Volunteering at CAN

Volunteer Recruitment event flyer.png

Individual Volunteers

Individual volunteers can work directly with our clients or behind the scenes to help keep our organization running smoothly. Volunteers prepare and serve lunches and dinners, pick up donations, work in the food pantry, help maintain our garden at the shelter, provide administrative support, help with fundraising and event planning, and offer other support to our organization. All individual volunteers are required to complete an application and a background check if working with children.

Group Volunteers

We work with groups to create meaningful volunteer opportunities that match our current and anticipated program needs, your group size, and your availability. All groups are limited to individuals ages 14 and over. We can accommodate up to 12 individuals in your group.

Contact our Volunteer Coordinator, April Stevens, for more information.

Community Choice Pantry Volunteer Needs

Help us distribute food to our neighbors in need in Baltimore County. Volunteers are needed at our Community Choice Pantry and Resource Center in Dundalk. Shifts are available in the mornings and afternoons, Monday-Friday. Training will be provided on your first shift. We have an urgent need for volunteers who can commit to consistent shifts - e.g. one day per week (or more), every week.
